Chrysler 300 Performance Review
It wouldn’t be a 2019 Chrysler 300 review without talking about the powertrain. This sedan hits the ground running whether you stick with the standard engine or the available upgrade.
It comes standard with a 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine that generates 292 horsepower or 300 horsepower depending on your trim level. It comes standard with front-wheel drive, but this engine also makes an all-wheel drive system available for even more advanced handling capabilities.
If you need even more power, you can upgrade to the 5.7L HEMI® V8 that delivers 363 horsepower. This engine doesn’t just work hard, it works smart. With Fuel Saver Technology, it deactivates four of its eight cylinders during highway cruising to help you stay efficient when your engine doesn’t need to be working so hard.
Technology Features of the 2019 Chrysler 300
The 2019 Chrysler 300 is a sedan that doesn’t skimp on the technology. Starting with what you’ll find inside the cabin, we love the standard 8.4-inch color touchscreen display in the center stack, which is part of the Uconnect® 4C or available Uconnect® 4C NAV infotainment system.
These systems also include Uconnect® phone with voice recognition, so you can safely make important phone calls on-the-go without taking your hands off the wheel.
There are many features included with this sedan that are designed to help keep you safe while on the road, such as the available Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning system with Active Braking. With this system, you’ll get an audible alert if there’s a potential hazard up ahead. If necessary, Active Braking will kick in to automatically bring you to a stop.
Other available smart safety features include the Blind Spot Monitoring System, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop, and LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist.
Chrysler 300 Interior
When you take your seat at the wheel, you’ll be surrounded by either cloth or Nappa leather seating appointments. You can customize these materials to your liking with several color choices, including Black, Linen, and Deep Mocha.
With the available dual-pane panoramic sunroof, you can really see those colors pop as you open up the sunshade and let in plenty of natural light. The sunroof spans the entirety of the cabin, so all five passengers can enjoy the fresh air and sunlight.
What stands out about the interior of the Chrysler 300 is that it does away with the traditional lever gear shifter. Instead, it declutters the center console by installing a sophisticated rotary e-shifter, which allows you to shift into Drive by simply turning a knob.
