Performance and Off-Road Capability
The 2021 version of the Jeep Renegade gave you two engine options. The 2022 model will only be providing one powerful engine option. The 1.3L Turbo 4-cylinder engine will be sticking around, generating 177 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. It works with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The drivetrain on the 2022 Renegade is a standard front-wheel drive system. However, you can opt for 4-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel capability if you are looking to head off-road. The Latitude and Limited trims will come standard with an all-wheel drive system.
With the Trailhawk, known for its off-roading capability, the Renegade has standard drive modes that allow you to adapt to the terrain. You’ll also get all-terrain tires and a low-range 4WD system and Rock mode.
Interior Features
The interior of the Renegade carries the rugged and powerful look of the exterior through the cabin. It’s both a practical look and one that catches the eye.
We expect the 5-seater SUV to offer cloth bucket seats and a leatherette gear shifter as standard. An available heated steering wheel will keep your hands warm while you drive in the winter and optional heated front seats help take care of the rest of you.
The infotainment system inside the Renegade will come standard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth® capability and available in-vehicle navigation. Higher trims might also offer SiriusXM® Traffic.
Driver-Assistive Technology
The Jeep Renegade is ready to keep you safe while you’re on the go. There are several standard driver-assistive and safety features included from the get-go. Some of these systems are:
- LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist: This system monitors your position within your lane. If you begin to drift out of your lane, it warns you and can help you course-correct if you need it.
- Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking: This system keeps an eye out for potential frontal collisions. If it senses one might occur, it warns you and can apply the brakes.
- ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera: See behind your vehicle with this camera. It’s great to use when backing out of a driveway or parallel parking.
