Are you looking for a truck that has the off-roading qualities of a Jeep? The 2022 Jeep Gladiator
meets those qualifications and even has a 2022 model coming out soon.1
Dallas Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (DCJR) knows how helpful it is to get a first look at an up-and-coming vehicle, which is why we’ve put together this preview for drivers from Dallas, Garland, and Arlington, Texas.
Read on to learn about the 2022 Jeep Gladiator’s performance, truck bed, towing capacity, and interior. When the Gladiator arrives, we hope to see you for a test drive.
We suspect the 2022 Gladiator will have two engines to choose from, a gas and a diesel engine.
The standard engine is the 3.6L V6 gas engine that generates 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed manual transmission works with this engine, giving you the power to shift gears yourself. An 8-speed automatic transmission is available as well for those who prefer that.
The available 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine gives you a lot more torque—hitting 442 lb-ft of torque. The horsepower of the diesel engine is an impressive 260 horsepower. This engine comes standard with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Like many off-roading-capable Jeep models, the 2022 Gladiator will likely have 4×4 capabilities. Trims specifically designed for off-roading have special shock absorbers, making for a smoother ride even on uneven terrain.
To help you save gas, the 3.6L engine comes with an Engine Stop-Start technology that shuts off the engine when idling and turns it back on again when you’re ready to go.
Towing and Payload Capacity
If you’re choosing a truck, the odds are you’re looking to tow. The Jeep Gladiator can handle an impressive amount in terms of both towing and payload.
When properly equipped, the Jeep Gladiator has a maximum towing capacity of 7,650 pounds. That’s enough power to tow things like camping trailers, boats, and other vehicles on a flatbed trailer. The Gladiator’s payload maximum tops out at 1,700 pounds when properly equipped.
Inside the Gladiator
The inside of the Jeep Gladiator calls back to earlier times with manual windows. The stylish, practical edge makes the Gladiator different and stand out. Modern, convenient features like push-button start come standard, so you don’t have to worry about getting your keys out while you’re on the go.
You can upgrade the interior of the Gladiator as you go up the trim levels to get available features, like a Dual-Zone Automatic Temperature Control.
The Gladiator has an infotainment system, too, with a standard 5-inch display that can be upgraded to seven inches. Voice control lets you keep your hands on the wheel while you request directions and answer phone calls. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ let you use smartphone apps right from your infotainment system.
