The Jeep Cherokee interior is well-designed and sure to please. You’ll be able to customize the aesthetics to suit your specific taste, with several different seating appointments and colors to choose from. Some colors we love include Black with Tungsten accent stitching and Ski Gray with Cattle Tan accent stitching.
When you enter the interior, you’ll find that the infotainment system is the star of the show. A 7-inch color touchscreen come standard, but you can upgrade to the 8.4-inch screen if you want even more. Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration comes standard as does Bluetooth® wireless device connectivity.
The inside of the Jeep Cherokee feels very open, with enough space for all five passengers to get comfortable. Both the front and rear passengers have plenty of room to stretch out in, with 41.1 inches of legroom up front and 40.3 inches of legroom in the back.
Even with all five seats occupied, you can bring along up to 25.8 cubic feet of cargo, while folding the fear seats down will accommodate a total of 54.7 cubic feet of cargo.
The exterior dimensions show that this SUV is off-road ready, with an approach angle of 28.8 degrees with the Jeep Active Drive Lock 4-wheel drive system. It also has a maximum ground clearance of 8.7 inches.
The Jeep Cherokee has a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 pounds when properly equipped. You get this kind of strength with the available 3.2L Pentastar® V6 engine that generates 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque.
The Cherokee makes two other engines available, as well. The standard 2.4L Tigershark® MultiAir®2 I-4 engine can pull 2,000 pounds and the available 2.0L turbo I-4 can tow 4,000 pounds when properly equipped.
To get the most out of your Cherokee towing capacity, you’ll want the Trailer Tow Prep package, which includes heavy-duty engine cooling, a trailer-tow wiring harness, and a Class III hitch receiver.
Before you can hit the streets in your new SUV, you’ll want to decide which of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee trim levels is the right fit for you. You’ll have five to pick from:
The Latitude is the base level trim and creates a solid foundation that the other trim levels build on. It comes standard with the 2.4L Tigershark® MultiAir®2 I-4 engine and the Uconnect® 4 infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen display.
