2021 Jeep Wrangler MPG Ratings

Exploring the 2021 Jeep Wrangler MPG Ratings

You may be wondering why MPG ratings are so important. They provide you with an estimate of how many miles you can travel per gallon of gas. Overall, MPG ratings can give you an idea of how often you’ll need to stop at a gas station to fuel up.

In the Jeep Wrangler base trim, the 2-door Sport, you’ll get an EPA-estimated 17 city/25 highway MPG rating when equipped with the standard 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine.

Trim levels equipped with the optional 2.0L 4-cylinder Turbo engine with Stop/Start Technology can deliver up to an EPA-estimated 21 city/24 highway MPG.

Wranglers with the available 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine have an EPA-estimated 22 city/29 highway MPG. This is the most fuel-efficient of the Wrangler engines.

If you prefer a mild-hybrid system, the available 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine with eTorque mild-hybrid system rivals the fuel economy of the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine with an EPA-estimated 19 city/24 highway MPG.

Ultimately, no matter which trim and configuration you choose, you’ll be sure to find fuel-efficient MPG ratings with a Jeep Wrangler.

Engine Specs and Powertrain Features

You’ll get excellent gas mileage with the 2021 Wrangler, but that doesn’t mean it skimps on powertrain options. You’ll have the choice between four available engines:

  • 0L 4-cylinder Turbo
  • 0L EcoDiesel V6
  • 6L Pentastar® V6
  • 6L Pentastar® V6 with eTorque mild-hybrid system

The 2.0L 4-cylinder Turbo engine delivers 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. With this powerful engine, you can tow jet skis, snowmobiles, or a lightweight travel trailer with ease.

If you go with either of the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engines, you get 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. With these engines, the Wrangler can tow up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.

Additionally, the eTorque mild-hybrid system provides the engines with a bit of low-end torque. This results in extra starting power and great rock-climbing capabilities.

The 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine has a bit more torque than the other engines. You’ll get 260 horsepower and a whopping 442 lb-ft of torque. With this much torque, you’ll get better traction and can tackle off-roading more easily.
